Please join us on March 21st for our next meeting, which will be held at McLaren Engineering, 100 Snake Hill Road, West Nyack, NY at 7:30 a.m. The seminar for the meeting is " Hoover Dam Bypass & Colorado River Bridge " given by Ed Power, P.E. Senior VP, HDR Engineering.

This project was one of the finalists of the Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award. A project completed on budget without a dispute or claim, complementing, protecting, and enhancing an American landmark. The project objective was to remove U.S. 93 traffic from Hoover Dam, improving driver and pedestrian safety, travel times and fuel efficiency; restoring critical freight trucking routes; enhancing the tourist experience; and protecting against hazardous spills into Lake Mead or disruptions to power generation. The River bridge is the first concrete-steel hybrid arch system in the U.S. and is the longest concrete arch span (1,060') in the Western Hemisphere, and the 4th longest in world.

The fee for the event will be $12 for members, $25 for non Rockland NYSSPE members. The presentation qualifies for 1 PDH.
